Owners Melissa and Nancy recently attended a runway hair workshop hosted by celebrity stylists Ramona Eschbach and Adam Livermore. The stylists who attended participated in 8 packed hours of hands-on learning, straight from the industry pros. The event was held at trendy Canoe Studio in lower Manhattan, the same studio that has been featured in Gap photo shoots and music videos by celebrities like Beyonce and Adam Lambert. The sprawling square footage and open design was the perfect place to host the Oribe styling class.
Students watched as Ramona brought to life a square bun that she custom designed for one of Rad Hourani‘s runway shows. She then schooled her students in the intricacies of designing the square bun. It is an elegant yet simple coif – great for showing off those high-fashion ensembles. It took Ramona just under and hour to perfect her creation, and stylists spent the rest of the class honing their skills in the, surprisingly difficult, art of bun making. Adam and Ramona looked on proudly, and offered tips and suggestions to stylists throughout the process.
Oribe spared no expense for the workshop. A photographer was hired to document the entire event, and even a modeling agency was called upon to supply several male and female models for the stylists. Each model was then individually photographed with their new “do” for the stylists to add to their portfolios. In New York City, luxury and class come standard.
For Melissa and Nancy, it was a trip for the books. Not only did they have a blast, they returned to Bei Capelli with a new style in their arsenal, ready to share what they learned with their team of stylists. Regularly participating in styling workshops led by hair celebrities, like Ramona and Adam, help us bring our clients the latest and greatest trends in the industry.
